Bible Studies
There are numerous opportunities to study the Bible, learn more about Christ, and discuss important Christian topics with other members of your church family. Please join us at one or more of the following:
Sunday morning Bible Studies are available for all ages. These Sunday school classes provide a good Biblical foundation for both children and adults. Our children learn God's Word and learn to apply its truths to their lives. Adult Sunday School studies various Christian topics and is generally lead by Pastor Townsend.
Midwest Chinese Ministries also offers a Bible class for Chinese every Sunday during our Sunday school hour. The Bible study is bilingual, being taught in English and Chinese. We study the Bible and the teachings of Christianity, growing together in our understanding and faith.
A Pastor-led Bible Study open to all interested adults is on Monday evenings.
A Women's Bible Study meets most Wednesday evenings. All women are welcome and are encouraged to bring friends. The purpose is to encourage each other to "Seek His Face". We also pray together. We study books of the Bible and topical studies.
The Men's Bible Study Group focuses on God's Word to guide men through daily issues both simple and complex. Please come and join us anytime. As brothers in Christ, we meet to support and spur on each other through Christ's teachings of love and respect (Eph 4:2, 32, Eph 5, Heb 10:23-25, 12:1, 1 Peter 5:8-10). One of our goals is to understand that this is only a part of a life-long process of growth and learning, and a part of the foundation of a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ (Rom 5:8, 12:10,16, Eph 6:10-18). Another goal is to help us respond to the grace that God has given us (Acts 1:8, Eph 2:8-10, James 2:14, 24, 1 Peter 4:10, 1 John 4:10-11).
Christian Preparation
Confirmation instruction prepares our children or new adult members for receiving Holy Communion. If you are a new member looking for more information, please contact Pastor Townsend.
Advent and Lenten Camps are held one Saturday during Advent and Lent to prepare children for the upcoming holidays of Christmas and Easter.
Youth Group
Welcome to Redeemer Youth Ministries! Our youth group provides a place for our young people to stretch and grow and find out who they are, all the while knowing they are supported and deeply cared for. The youth group consists of confirmed young people. The youth develop strong, personal relationships with Christ, promote Christian values and communities, and serve as an integral part of the church.
Youth Ministry at Redeemer Lutheran Church has four components:
Fellowship- has to do with a connectedness to each other... just being together and learning through fun things like, the annual camping trip and/or ski trip, game night, lock-ins, Quidditch, ultimate Frisbee, and many others.
Worship- has to do with our relationship to God. All youth members are encouraged to participate in the Sunday worship services. The youth hand chime choir, skits, ushering, and scripture reading provides additional opportunities for the youth to be involved in the worship service.
Service- is the natural expression of our worship, the urgent outcome of our everyday commitment to Christ... but above all it's a bunch of fun helping others and doing activities together! These include events like mission trips to areas in and outside of the US, preparation and serving of meals, and hosting functions for the congregation.
Education- has to do with our understanding of where we are in our faith and how we can grow in our faith daily. Sunday morning studies are generally focused on how the Bible explains issues that confront the youth every day.
