God has blessed Redeemer Lutheran Church with the heart for mission work. Over the past several years, our congregation has given their time and talents to carry out mission work in many different places. For three consecutive years we teamed up with Ysleta Lutheran Missions in El Paso Texas and sent mission teams to build homes, teach the word of God, and provide medicines for the growing Christian communities around the troubled Juarez Mexico area. Another mission worked with Habitat for Humanity in El Salvador and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans to help build a community in El Salvador. We also teamed up with Habitat for Humanity in New Orleans to help rebuild and offer hope to those still suffering from Hurricane Katrina.
For our 2011 mission, God moved our congregation to send a team to repair existing structures and build a family cabin for a Christian family retreat called Mountain Top Experience in Waynesville, NC. Mountain Top Experience's focus is to bring families closer together and to God while experiencing the beauty of His creations. We pray that the retreat and cabin will be used to serve many families for many years, helping them to grow closer to God.
The Redeemer Lutheran Church Mission Team is open to anyone with the desire to join us. We focus on humbly serving God, carrying out his will by serving others, and for each team member to build a stronger relationship with Christ during the mission experience.
