Pastor Joseph Townsend has a BA in Geology from Concordia, Chicago (1976) and an MDiv from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne (1980). He served Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Knox, Indiana from June 1980 until August 1986 when he accepted the call here to Redeemer.

Married to Deborah (Ariail) since 1977 they have 5 children and share their home with Debbie’s parents, Ralph and LaVerne (and Auron, their Jack Russell Terror-dog).

Pastor Joe’s favorite things include preaching, teaching, leading worship, playing in the band and in the woodwind consort, golf, tennis, really complicated board games, Chicago sports teams (Cubs-not Sox!) and his Yamaha Majesty.

Deborah Townsend serves as the Parish Assistant.

Robin Haymond serves as Church Secretary.
